Gotta appreciate the honesty! Cool stuff!

At least he's not like some mainstream artists that claim they do it for the "love" of music (money)

Just amazing, Andy. You should definitely inform me when you do a clinic in the Netherlands. Nice words on Kenny and the other greats. I dig Kenny's playing on Billy Meyers. What is the Tama Superstar like? I have an old red one with 24 bass, 13, 14 and 18 toms which someone gave to me but never use it. They lack a focused tone. Why did Tama use this name again?

I am a TB fan. He could fall into the drums and I'd want to hear it (would cause a lot of damage with his kit. At drumfest I joked with Kenny that I was going to finish my set and then just walk into his kit a'la Kirk Cobain)

I am sympathetic to your viewpoints however. So many people I have talked found his set boring and repetitive and I could sense this yesterday.

Some of what he does is very beautiful however...(still sitting on the fence)

I charted the Indian track first as some of the runs were a bit awkward. I really like some of the modulations in it. Also Indian music frequency wise is great for putting drums over.
If you like complexity try 'Ridiculous Grasp' from my audio page.

The new Tama Superstar has nothing to do with the old Superstar.
I'ts a great name that Tama wanted to use again (Tama's original name was Star Drums, this is whay all there kits end in star)

Funny you should mention the Kurt Cobain thing Andy. At Saturday's Bozzio clinic a group of young lads asked the question:

"Do you ever get the old Keith Moon rock and roll urge to trash your kit?"

Terry handled it well.

Killer Andy! Great diary...I really appreciate the writing and details...;ile taking a trip overseas!

I can't imagine playing along side Lang.

I've alwyas been amazed at Kenny's energy. I met him at NAMM and wore a Pitt's Steeler T-shirt. He's from PA, and we spoke about football with about 20 guys waiting for an autograph. He didn't care...was networking the room, talking to me, signing a drum head for me...the guy was ON! My buddy did a lot of session calls and Kenny was always at them...the man WORKS...constantly.

Hey man...keep it up...thanks for the post!!!

Pocket

thomas is a good mate now (i've played with him a lot)
last time i told him I hated him watching me play as I thought he would be picking apart my technique

He said something like 'no, quite the opposite, I'm really interested in your ideas; how you do similar things but in a different way'

Thomas is very cool and I have learnt a lot from him over the years.
he has no fear. I think this is a profound thing if you really understand what it means...

Benrand must be a Pittsburgh Steeler (American) football fan like Kenny and PocketPlayer.
